Another relatively new addition to the Westdale Business community is
Penny Palmer’s Global Village offering a wonderful selection of
specialty foods, fair-trade coffees and teas, and delicious baked goods
and drinks. The country store feel of this shop invites you to spend
leisurely time looking over the wonderful array of sauces, condiments,
and tapenades. The very personable owner, Penny Palmer is only too
willing to assist with suggestions and ideas and the ingredients for
creating a wonderful meal filled with delicious flavours and aromas.
Global Village Market offers fresh and packaged specialty foods. The
goal of Penny and her staff is to offer the finest fair- traded products
from coffee & chocolate to giftware. Global Village carries socially
just brands such as “Ten Thousand Villages”, “Birds & Beans” coffee &
“Cocoa Camino”. Global Village will create and deliver gift baskets with
special diets in mind; organic, kosher, sugar free and gluten free, fair
trade.
Everyone at Global Village is very excited about our upcoming Westitalia
Festival. As part of the celebrations for this day Global Village will
be serving Espresso Blended Fair Trade Coffee from Birds & Beans on
Saturday and Sunday. Purchase a cup and receive a complimentary slice of
Panetone Bread. Ace Bakery, one of the outstanding suppliers to Global
Village will be offering demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday which
will feature “the 3 Foccacia’s” – Rosemary, Cranberry, and Onion….sounds
like a singing group , but tastes much better!
Exciting in store demos will feature products from Brickstone, another
of their wonderful suppliers. These demos will feature Artichoke
Tapenade and Roasted Red Pepper and Nut Tapenade. If your mouth is
